UH-TENN-SHUHN
2018

There’s less and less appetite for generic content, but people will always want specific, personal advice tailored just for them. I made magic shows just for them, Fantastic shows with bunnies and pigeons, hats and swords, great applauds, emotions, excitement, moments of risk, in-person events generating enormous value. At the best point I showed them my golden box, ”What’s inside?” They asked. I asked them to step inside.
Attention has nowadays turned into an object itself, a scarce resource in the overflow of information. But what if attention was to be distilled, like pure attention? How could digital techniques of attention economy be transferred to a live context? Uh-tenn-shuhn is an installation, a parade de lit, a staged funeral & performance created by Johanna Malm, Olof Runsten & Tone Aminda Lund. Presented at KINDL gallery, Berlin, within the festival 48 Stunden Neukölln.
An attempt to translate strategies from attention economy to an intense (kin-)aesthetic experience to bind, disturb & exhaust your attention.
